Ways of Living:

When Bulgarians nod their heads up and down, they usually mean NO. When they shake their heads from side to side, they mean YES!

Apart from holiday activities that we have in store for you, popular entertainment includes movies, concerts, opera, theatre and musical theatre. There are plenty of clubs to dance, drink, and enjoy either live music or a DJ.A cover charge and dress code is the norm, and minimum age is 18. There is a variety of live music and dancing in smaller clubs or restaurants, there would be no minimum age here.

Driving is on the right side of the road - most of the time! Avoiding potholes is the major distraction and this is when you will find cars approaching you on the same side of the road that you are driving on. Other hazards include livestock and animal-drawn carts on the roads, especially during the spring and summer months. Conditions deteriorate during winter, and night driving is not usually advised. Balgari or Fire Dancing is the most ancient mysterious ritual - barefooted dancers performing on burning embers. This religious and mystical ritual for expelling illness, for health and fruitfulness is one that must be seen to believe it!

Spend your days wondering around the delightful treasures of Bulgaria - Bulgarian embroidery with its intricate geometrical figures, Bulgarian rugs and carpets with their vibrant colours, exquisitely painted Bulgarian ceramics, finely ornamented Bulgarian fretwork and superbly fashioned Bulgarian jewellery.

Great food, music, culture and folklore - warm friendly people!
